U.S., UK, Germany and France Push UN Plan for Inspections of Iran’s Nuclear Sites
The United States, United Kingdom, Germany and France are reportedly pushing for a plan to be presented to the United Nations Security Council that would require Iran to allow an international investigative team to inspect its nuclear facilities and assess the current condition of the country’s nuclear sites.
However, the proposal is expected to face strong opposition from Russia and China, both of which could potentially use their veto powers at the Security Council to block the resolution.
The move could further intensify diplomatic tensions among the world’s major powers over Iran’s nuclear program, as Western nations seek greater access and transparency while Moscow and Beijing are expected to resist additional pressure on Tehran.
