Ukraine Reports Heavy Russian Losses as Drone Strikes Hit Oil Facilities Deep Inside Russia
Ukraine’s military has reported more than 6,600 Russian personnel killed or wounded across three consecutive daily assessments, citing estimated losses of 2,100, 2,500 and 2,060 respectively.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian long-range drone strikes have reportedly targeted Russian oil infrastructure for five consecutive nights, including facilities in Novokuybyshevsk, Ufa, Kstovo, the Samara region and, most recently, the YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl.
Footage circulating online appears to show large fires and thick columns of smoke following several of the reported attacks. The full extent of the damage and potential production disruptions remains unclear.
The strikes are targeting critical components of Russia’s oil network, including refineries, storage facilities and pumping infrastructure that support domestic fuel supplies and energy exports.
As Ukrainian forces continue resisting Russian offensives along the front lines, Kyiv is increasingly using long-range drones to strike infrastructure far behind Russian territory, potentially increasing the economic and logistical costs of Moscow’s war effort.
The developments place additional pressure on the Kremlin, forcing Russia to sustain military operations while protecting strategic energy facilities across its vast territory.
