Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces recorded 10,187 Russian personnel losses during the first 24 days of September, according to their commander, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi.

The figure includes both irretrievable and sanitary losses—military terminology covering personnel killed or otherwise permanently removed from service, as well as those wounded. It should not be interpreted as 10,187 Russians killed.

Nearly 70% of the total was recorded across two of the war’s most heavily contested areas:

• 4,018 Russian casualties in the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk sectors, where Ukrainian forces are operating under the Azov Group of Forces.
• 3,021 Russian casualties in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole sectors.

These four sectors alone accounted for 7,039 of the reported losses, demonstrating how heavily Russia continues to concentrate personnel along the most active sections of the front—and how efficiently Ukrainian drones are finding them.

The Unmanned Systems Forces normally aim to inflict approximately 10,000 confirmed Russian personnel losses each month. September’s benchmark was reached with six days remaining, and Brovdi projects that the final total will surpass 12,000.

Russian troops increasingly encounter Ukrainian drones long before reaching Ukraine’s infantry. They are tracked along approach routes, struck while moving through logistics corridors and targeted again when they reach staging areas and frontline positions.
