UPND ALLIANCE UNHAPPY WITH FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU`S HYPOCRICY STATEMENT

    By Lukundo Nankamba
The UPND alliance is disappointed with sentiments made by Former President Edgar Lungu at the burial of late 4th President Rupiah Banda, where he referred to president Hakainde Hichilema and the upnd establishment as hypocrites.

UPND Alliance Spokesman Daniel Shimunza says it is grossly unfair to president Hichilema who during the whole period of mourning accorded Mr Lungu all the distinguished etiquette befitting a former head of state.

In a statement, Dr Shimunza says not only is it a taboo and disrespectful to utter such words at a funeral but also uncultured and non-Zambian for a man of Mr Lungu’s stature to belittle the reverence of such a ceremony.

He says the former Head of State can do well to tone down and start living by the dictates of his stature.

Mr. Lungu has sparked debate after speaking against hypocrisy during the burial of fourth republican President Rupiah Banda in Lusaka on Friday.
