UPND APPETITE TO OPRESS OPPONENTS IS WORRYING- SP WOMEN

….stands in solidarity with NDC leader Saboi Imboela

Lusaka… Monday, August 12, 2024

The Socialist Party (SP) women have bemoaned the appetite of the UPND Government to oppress their political Opponents.

This came to light when an SP women delegation led by Mrs Mutinta Mazoka M’membe visited NDC President Saboi Imboela at Kabwata Police Station.

Speaking, Sunday, SP National Resource Mobilisation Chairperson Olivia Phiri said it is a sad situation in the country that political leaders are going through what they are going through.

Phiri said it is for this reason that come 2026, such inhumane acts should not be allowed to continue.

She said despite the oppression, the opposition will not relent and is getting stronger.

Phiri is hopeful that the Zambians are now able to see the kind of bad leadership that was ushered into power.

“We have visited Saboi, she is in high spirit. We know how it feels to be in detention especially for a woman.. The appetite of the UPND Government to see their opponents oppressed is unacceptable and worrying. We are getting strong  we are not going to relent,” she said.

Phiri has since implored the Zambians to remove such kind of regime which is there to oppress the people.

  1. Saboi Imboela knows exactly why she’s in Police custody. All these women also know, as does Brebner Changala. It’s her big mouth, stupid.

  2. Ignorance is a serious problem with these women. A lack of common sense regarding basic legal matters is very suprising.

The bench warrant against her is not politically mortivated. This particular case is a civil matter.

This young lady fasely accused another person and he felt aggrieved and hence sort legal action against those who discredited him.

Why are these women seeing this as political persecution. We don’t want double standard systems where those who accuse others by abussing their freedom of speech to destroying the character of their perceived enermies go unpunished. They must be made to substantiate their claims.

Unfortunately, this young lady absconded from court proceedings. This is a crime that won’t be tolerated by the courts.

Regrettably this young lady and many others who have used their mouths to speak unsubstantiated accusations about their opponents.

We need some sanity in the opposition. They need to stick to mature and factual things and not dramatised fake stories.

She alone is to blame for this incarceration. Suprisingly it happened after she stated her position regarding the administration of the association of opposition political parties.

It is most unfortunate and sad that she is in the custody of the law enforcement officers. She must take full responsibilty of this issue because her heart started all this in the first place.

All she needed to do was to apologise publicly as requested by the injured party and all this would have been avoided. Instead pride was more appealing.

So now she has to pove her case. That’s as raw as it should be. It is important to remain factual and not lie in order to appeal to the masses. Make the name in a right manner.

  3. Foolish women. You make us women be little to dancing and undressing for political mileage instead of tackling issues with maturity. Since when did malicious lying about others when the aggrieved party drags her to court become political persecution? No wonder bafeluka enmass ku ziale. Saboi it seems has nothing to offer other than insult others; and she expects to get away with it? Let her justify her utterances in court so that she gets justice and vindicated.

  4. SP women, it is very unfortunate that politics in Zambia seems to be changing.Maybe we need to introduce a law where for one to practice politics they need to have a practice licence so that there may be some certain ethics set.It has been observed that some people spread false narratives, misleading claims, false hoods as you are doing now.You know too well what transpired in the case of Saboi and uncle Fred but you deliberately want to mislead and indeed to turnish the good image of UPND alleging the UPND has appetite to incarcerate people from opposition patties. In politics facts are essential, political culture based on lies is detrimental to the well being of society and democracy. This new culture of accusations and misinformation is making you more and more unpopular because people are able to deduce and ceive what is right and wrong. You better stop it.
