UPND DISTANCES ITSELF FROM SUSPECTED PARTY CADRES WHO INSULTED FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU YESTERDAY

UPND National Youth Chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso has distanced his office and the party from suspected party cadres who insulted and threatened violence against Former President Edgar Lungu at the Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC- offices where his family members appeared for questioning yesterday.

Addressing the media in Lusaka this morning, Mr Liswaniso said he has summoned the party provincial youth chairperson to identify and establish if indeed those involved belong to the upnd.

Mr Liswaniso says if it is established that the youths belong to the UPND, disciplinary action will be taken and the resolutions will be submitted to the National Management Committee for further action as there were no such instructions issued by his office.

He has since condemned the actions by the suspected UPND cadres as they are against the country`s culture which demands that elders are given the respect they deserve.

Suspected UPND cadres chanting party slogans yesterday insulted and threatened to violently harm Mr. Lungu and his entourage at DEC offices in Lusaka in full view of police officers.

  1. You are lying through your teeth. I have never been Lungu’s fan butcI don’t see neutral person s taking the trouble of going to court premises to insult Lungu. Let’s use civil in the way we conduct our politics.

    • Come on this a cheap “clever chicken theory” scam by PF. They hire there own and dress them red like UPND. Pungwe tasakamana as theory goes! Cheap skates that all! They tried burning that bitch MPs house, it didn’t work. Then again with jj abduction now turns he’s been charged with attempted murder. These are all the same baba!!!!!!

  2. Away from what happened around those cadres, Liswaniso, you are a politician, did you see with political eyes how this presidential trip on the copperbelt was received, from an observers point of view, l think you need a lot of work on the copperbelt, otherwise it is slipping away, and that at a time it is most needed. I am a copperbelt person and l know where the problem is. Let us reduce on promises and concentrate on actuals, copperbelt people do not believe in long term promises.

  3. Fellow Zambians, these guys were clearly committing an offence in full view of our local Police who I believe understand the (insults) in our local language. The question is why were they not arrested? The police would have saved us a lot of acrimony, accusations and counter-accusations because these people would have by now revealed who sponsored them. The Police are a either incompetent or they are just puppets in the hands of a puppet master.
