If President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND say Good morning , you have to check your watch because they have a tendency of misrepresenting a lot of things, Patriotic Front Party Spokesperson Raphael Nakacinda has cautioned the Zambian people.
Hon Nakacinda said this against a backlog of U-turned decisions made by the New Dawn Administration most notably procedure in the recruitment of Teachers.
Speaking when he featured on Millennium radio programme, Hon Nakacinda said it was embarrassing to see Southern Province Minister Cornelius Mweetwa saying the recruitment process is irregular on the pretext that local stakeholders had not been involved and that a circular from Cabinet had guided on how it should be conducted.
He said the UPND Government has U-turned on their earlier pronouncement when they announced that people do not have to move from one locality to another , but they can apply in the district where they are and indicate the District they want to serve
Hon Nakacinda said contrary to what is being portrayed by the UPND, a Minister must be nowhere near issues to do with recruitment of civil servants.
He said it is a shame to have a government whose ministers and Cabinet want to be in the forefront in the recruitment and disciplinary of civil servants.
“If Mr Mweetwa found that some of the names that have been everted are not from that particular locality, it shows that it was a template that was presented At the beginning of the process.
It is ignorance for a Minister to make the pronouncements about the recruitment. Even to have a circular from Cabinet around how technocrats should be able to recruit so that Mr Mweetwa should have his preferred applicants on the list , is abuse of the process,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hon Nakacinda says the Zambian people should think twice on the intentions of the UPND to embark on a constitutional making Process because they have a history of shunning such attempts.
Hon Nakacinda said the Problem the country face when it comes to the enactment of the law is the deceitful nature of the UPND.
“Their politics is about Propaganda and deceit. They Don’t have a conscious that pricks them when they are Changing goalposts. They changed their goal posts over the 2016 Constitution. They said it had lacunae, but when they were asked to debate, they walked out. Even this time around they are playing a game of trying to show that they are the ones who are serious about this Constitutional making Process, they are just playing propaganda,” he said.
He said the UPND do not intend to clean up the Constitution but would rather want to push one or two provisions that favour their political agenda.
“They don’t intend to enact laws that would deal with public order act, defamation of the President, criminal libel , delimitation among others but would rather try to push for one or two provisions that would favour their political agenda,” he said.
He has however stated that the PF have always been progressive, and would support the Constitutional Process if done in good faith.
