Opposition Members of Parliament have settled on Chipangali West MP, Vincent Mwale as the Second Deputy Speaker while the UPND is pushing Mufumbwe Independent MP Nshamba Muzungu (like the did with Stephen Moyo) as the person to secure the office.
Mwale was Zambia’s youngest MP when he started his career.
In early political career (2006–2016) he was first elected to the National Assembly of Zambia in 2006 under the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) banner, successfully defending his seat in 2011.
During his tenure, he also served as the Chairperson of the Public Accounts CommitteCabinet Portfolio Era (2015–2021)
After 2016, Mwale was appointed to several critical ministerial roles.
He is one of the most experienced MPs in the House.
