UPND VICTORY IN JUST ENDED WARD BY-ELECTIONS DUE TO NON-PARTICIPATION OF REAL PF-OYV

By Nonhlanhla Phuti

Operation Young Vote -OYV- says the UPND’s victory in the just ended ward by-elections could be attributed to the non-participation of the real Patriotic Front due to the purported and alleged sponsored wranglers.

OYV Executive Director Guess Nyirenda says the UPND only managed to secure a win due to the first-past-the-post electoral system, where the winner takes it all and explains that this destabilizing system caused voter apathy.

Mr. Nyirenda explains that several factors favored the ruling party, including the advantage of incumbency and the absence of monitoring and observation groups to whistle-blow any form of malpractice.

He says his organization would not be compelled to believe that the outcome of these ward by-elections would be a reflection of what is yet to come when Zambians go to the general elections in 2026.

Out of the 9 wards in Nakonde, Sikongo, Choma, Mufumbwe, Kawambwa and Kanchibiya, the UPND managed to win 8 wards while one ward was won by an independent candidate.

  1. Who stopped the real PF from participating?

Sometimes is better to just acknowledge that you lost.

  2. Just by not participating in elections is a signal that PF is slowly losing ground.Thats a good platform to convince the voters how the party has reformed and the way forward. These by elections could have been a reconciliation path between the two PF factions to put their difference aside and chant the way forward. The electorates will loose faith in those parties that didn’t take part and concentrate on parties that are active in other words even the membership shift camps. This organization should not comfort the PF on false hood and must the reality in what human mind does.In other words, the former ruling party should not have missed this opportunity to participate in these by elections.

  3. A very interesting analysis, surely which is the real pf? May be we need to be educated some of us. Anyway as put above if a party fails to participate, isn’t it reason enough to completely shelve such and concentrate on those showing effort.

      • Observer there is no one with wisdom in defuct PF club. Only PF criminals remaining and scrambling for looted manna at Edgar Lungu’s house. What wisdom are you talking about iwe PF loser! Abash incurable PF bitterness!

    • Wise msn maaa with your insignificant one vote you think tables will turn in your favour PF criminal iwe? C’mon use your brain correctly iwe

    • Frank Talk don’t blame HH for your biological enherited poverty. HH is not accountable to any PF idiot bwana.

  4. What a poor analysis, who stopped the real PF? The young man looks handsome and smart but what’s is coming out of him is very ugly.

  5. The name is guess therefore he has decided to start guessing on giving information no wonder nobody takes these guys serious too much guessing, the matters are obviously that PF criminals are busy eating itself but you decided to pretend and pointing fingers at innocent people

  6. The way individuals view and analyse things is different when it comes view performance. As for PF it is a disorganised political party full of political scavengers. Greedy, selfishness and self driven desires have destroyed the PF because of the leaders want to leader. The love of money before service is the motive of the PF. PF is slowly dwindling and 2026 will see the PF disintegrating further especially on adopting candidates.

On the other hand, despite the challenges the country is facing today UPND is a party of Choice for many Zambians. Loading is caused by natural factors and the government encouraging the use of solar power is the way to go in transforming the thing of people to start adapting to alternate source of green energy.
