CATHOLIC Priest Fr Andrew Chewe Mukosa says the family of former president Edgar Lungu has been misled by PF acting vice president Given Lubinda.
And Fr Mukosa says the UPND government has spent the last four years arguing with the opposition instead of fulfillintg its campaign promises.
Speaking when he featured on KBN TV, Tuesday, Fr Mukosa said Lubinda was using Lungu’s funeral for political reasons.
“It won’t help us to point hands at each other. I’m blaming the government; I’m blaming the [Lungu] family. I am saying these two have failed to reconcile.

The Arch Bishop Dr Alick Banda was in South Africa for the burial of ECL which was aborted when the Government Of the Republic of Zambia instituted legal Proceedings against the Lungu family. He even celebrated the requiem Mass for the late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Father Mukosa is saying he can’t point out who is to blame between the government and the family, yet he sees it fit to single out Given Lubinda as the person misleading the family.. Every thing concerning the burial of ECL has been revolving around Counsel Makebi Zulu, the lawyer and family spokesperson. Where does Given Lubinda come in? The PF Acting President has been listening to the family from the time the 6th President passed away, his declaration of Party National Mourning, the waiting of the body at KKIA on 18th June 2025, the Court cases up to today..and his role has been to ensure PF members mourn and give a dignified send off to their Party President.
Ba Father, don’t bring in divisions. The PF and family have remained united during this difficult time.
If you have nothing to say, better to keep quiet. Don’t misrepresent the Catholic Church. Let the Zambia Council of Catholic Bishops issue a statement on this issue ba Father, instead of yourself.

Father Mukosa, just eat the money UPND has given you and stop talking about things you don’t know or understand . What kind of a father are you ? Do you understand the silent death ECL was going through having been denied medical treatment on 3 occasions? Do you understand the psychological pain ECL went through when in January 2025 he was told that had you come earlier , we might have done something ? Do you understand the hopelessness that was imposed on a man who was once Commander In Chief of Zambia’s Armed Forces ? Do you under the pain ECL had to go through to sneak out of the country theough the borders which were once under his control ? All this he went through not because he was a criminal but because every time he stepped outside , every time he opened his mouth , the cold shiver went right through the spine of the Hallucinating Headman government.
