WE APPLAUD HH FOR SUSPENDING OUR CAMPAIGNS IN HONOR OF KK. YOU ARE A TRUE LEADER. RIP KK
From the onset, we would like to applaud President HH and thank him for showing true leadership by suspending all our campaign activities in order for us to mourn our founding father, the father of our nation Dr Kenneth Buchizya Kaunda with dignity and respect. What President HH has exhibited here is selfless leadership which is second to none owing to the fact that this the campaign period and putting into consideration the limited time that has remained before the August 12 general elections.
As the nation grapples with this huge loss, it is only imperative that Mr Hichilema, has, just as any noble, wise and selfless leader had to put his political interests aside to focus on celebrating the life of one of Africa’s greatest sons and freedom fighter. This is exemplary leadership, it is a symbol of true patriotism, maturity and level headedness from a leader. The kind of leadership that has been demonstrated by President HH is so humbling. This is the kind of leadership that is unfortunately lacking in our country at national level.
This can be seen in the manner that the death of Dr KK has been mishandled by the PF govt the move we strongly condemn. It is so surprising that Mr Lungu relegated the noble duty of announcing the demise of one of Africa’s icons in the liberation struggle to the Secretary to Cabinet. This is demeaning and disheartening. How can a mere Secretary to the Cabinet announce the death of an our founding father, one of the icons of the African liberation struggle? It is uncalled for to say the least!
As Lusaka Province we join the rest of the country and the world at large in celebrating the life of our fallen hero, super Ken. In mourning him, we will ensure that this directive from President HH is fully implemented and abided by to the latter. We will also see to it that all our members in the Province adhere to it until when the president decides to lift this suspension.
Finally, we wish to reiterate that KK deserves respect from all of us. His contribution to both the wellbeing of our country and the African continent is so immense and cannot be over emphasized. His was a fight for an end to colonialism, a feat he achieved for Zambia and most of our neighbouring countries. Zambia is known all over the world because of Dr Kaunda’s noble fight for humanity. He was one of the pioneers of the decolonization of Africa from foreign powers. He was a true freedom fighter and he will forever be our hero.
Our heartfelt condolences goes to the Kaunda family, the nation and world at large as we mourn the untimely demise of this great son of the soil.
