We are back from leave and have resumed our duties.
This afternoon at the office, we conducted a delegated swearing in ceremony for our Chairperson and Member respectively, of our Ministerial Human Resources Management Committee.
During the ceremony, we recognized that an effective and professional Civil Service is essential to quality public service delivery and the successful implementation of our national development priorities.
Effective human resource management, including the timely and appropriate processing of staff matters, is therefore critical to creating an enabling environment in which public officers can effectively perform their duties.
It is against this background that we have today inducted the Director Human Resource and Administration, Mr Lazarous Mulenda, as Chairperson, and the Acting Chief Internal Auditor, Ms Christine Kabwe, as a member of the Ministry of Information and Media Human Resource Management Committee following their appointments by the Civil Service Commission.
We congratulate Mr Mulenda and Ms Kabwe and urge them to discharge their responsibilities with professionalism, diligence and commitment, while working closely with fellow Committee members and Management.
A professional and well-motivated Civil Service is key to the successful implementation of the Grow Zambia Agenda, which requires a responsive, efficient and accountable public service focused on delivering results for citizens.
As the Ministry of Information and Media, we must also ensure that our workforce is well supported to effectively communicate Government policies, programmes and development initiatives to the public.
We are confident that the Committee will contribute to strengthening a professional and motivated workforce capable of supporting our Ministry’s mandate and the successful implementation of the Grow Zambia Agenda.
