Patriotic Front Member of the Central Committee Francis Musunga says the former ruling party PF is becoming stronger everyday.
Mr. Musunga says the ruling UPND government has proved that it is a failed project.
Mr. Musunga, who is also Luapula Provincial Chairperson, says the UPND has failed to deliver according to their 2021 campaign promises.
He said this at Nsamba market in Luapula Constituency in Lunga District, Luapula Province when he addressed the residents who had come from the four chiefdoms to commemorate International Youth Day.
“How much are you buying a 25kg bag of mealie meal here? Is that the price the UPND promised you while in opposition? Since all of us have seen that the UPND has no capacity to govern this country, the onus is on us to ensure that come 2026 we kick them out of office. But this can only be done if we are united as people of Luapula and beyond,” he said.
“Some people who I know that supported the UPND while in opposition until they formed government in 2021, have come to me to apologize that they indeed made a grave mistake to vote for the UPND. What I tell them is that you are the same people who can remove them from office in 2026. So let’s remain united and work together in order to regain power in 2026.”
He said the Central Committee remains committed to ensuring that come 2026, the former ruling party will once again form government.
“They (UPND) keep on saying that PF is a dead political party. But they keep on persecuting our members. Why would they focus on persecuting our members if they are from a dead party?” He added.
“They talk about PF being corrupt. Who has been found guilty of all those allegations by a competent court? No one! So they say all these things just to distract us. But we remain focused because we have resolved to redeem the people of Zambia from the UPND’s mess.”
