PF national women’s chairperson Kampamba Mulenga says in five years of UPND, Zambia will be in intensive care unit.
Mulenga, who is also Kalulushi PF member of parliament, says she feels lazy to be in parliament because UPND ministers do not have answers.
“The cost of living has skyrocketed beyond imaginable levels. The PF used to take good care of the Zambian people. When you go at the hospital, there are no medicines. Instead of sorting out the problem, the President [Hakainde Hichilema] is just busy travelling around the world. Women make revolutions in a country. If we don’t stand up, we will die in this country. I even feel lazy to be in parliament these days because these ministers fail to give us answers,” she said during the launch of the party’s women’s movement in Ndola on Sunday. “How can a country be developed using CDF (Constituency Development Fund)? Just in these five years, we will be in ICU. To give them another five years, we will be dead. If we don’t change government in the next four years, we will die and go back to colonial days. Let us go back to the old politics. We are the freedom fighters us as women.”
Mulenga said the people of Zambia are still happy with the PF hence “no defections” from the time the party lost power.
“There is even no defections because people are happy with PF. Leaders, when we go to the convention, let’s not say ‘me I want this person’. We will fall. Let’s go with the one the people will vote for,” said Mulenga. “We will only have one candidate. Whoever, they will give us is the one we will go with.”
Meanwhile, acting PF secretary general Nickson Chilangwa asked President Hichilema to stop running the country like his personal farm.
“I bring you greetings from president Edgar Lungu. Does it pain you to miss him?” Chilangwa asked. “When I told president Lungu that I am going to see the women on the Copperbelt, he said ‘greet the people because I miss them’.”
Suddenly, Chilangwa got emotional and went on to attack President Hichilema and the UPND.
“A person who is your husband and beats (you) up every day and in the night he wants to ukutonya ibele (cuddle with your breasts)? What nonsense?”
He claimed that President Hichilema failed to evacuate former president Rupiah Banda, who succumbed to colon cancer on March 11 and was put to rest last Friday at the presidential burial site, Embassy Park.
“When he was sick, president Edgar Lungu could release the presidential chopper and let him (Banda) use it for treatment. But this man…where on earth can a former president die in the house? He requested to be evacuated, but he (President Hichilema) said use a bus,” Chilangwa charged.
And Chilangwa said the PF knows the tactics that the UPND used to win the elections.
“We know the tactics the UPND used to win the elections. We know who they used. Look at him when he is lying? I heard some woman in parliament saying the shortage of medicine in hospital is caused by the PF. What sort of foolishness is this?” he charged.
Chilangwa said President Hichilema should stop running the country like his personal farm.
“Stop behaving and running Zambia like a personal farm. This is not your company. Stop running Zambia like your personal farm and we should not be intimidated. We are here for a long war. This nonsense should come to an end now,” said Chilangwa. “Hakainde Hichilema if what you promised the people of Zambia…go back to repent. I thought when he went to meet the Pope, he was going to repent. Alas he just went to take pictures. I have never seen a government that loses popularity in three months!”
And Bowman Lusambo said whether the UPND likes it or not ‘kuyabebele’ (they’re losing) in 2026.
“Copperbelt has hot politics. If we are united there will be fire in the country. 2026 whether they like it or not UPND kuyabebele. PF and Edgar Lungu left things on the ground. If there is a president in the entire world, President Hakainde Hichilema is a liar number one of a president,” said Lusambo. “We will walk together with you (Kampamba) because we know what we want to do in 2026.
When you go to Luapula, let me know. I want to escort you in all provinces. I will move with you because we know what we want to do in 2026.”
Former Chifubu PF member of parliament Frank Ng’ambi said he was convinced that the UPND “stole” the 2021 elections.
“The 2021 elections, the UPND stole the elections. We won. If they think that the PF is finished, let them wait for the elections. Going forward, we will be winning all the elections which will be held in the country,” said Ng’ambi.
Copperbelt Nathan Chanda said the party had reflected on the loss it suffered in 2021.
He said the PF was still 99 per cent intact on the Copperbelt.
Chanda said the PF was just passing through a phase that would change and will bounce back in 2026.
While party information and publicity chairman Raphael Nakacinda said the weakest government ever in Zambia is that of President Hichilema.
He claimed that President Hichilema has nothing to tell the Zambian people.
“He does not know what to do. Everything is the PF when he wakes up in the morning. He is moving up and down, yet we worked and Edgar Lungu is home just watching him. We need to be strong. A liar will always look for people to fight,” he said. “Even if he does something to us, we will continue to speak for the people. Today, now Hakainde has made a deal to give KCM to his friends that is why he now wants to remove the liquidator Milingo Lungu [Milingo has since resigned his position in KCM]. Zambia is now looking for the PF.”
Nakacinda charged that President Hichilema had taken bloggers to stay at State House.
“Milingo will now resign very soon because they have squeezed him much. Now they want to bring that Indian man they borrowed money from for their campaigns…We are strong us here. Here where I have come with binoculars to see, I know if they arrest us, you the women will bring me food,” said Nakacinda.
