WE’VE CLAWED BACK 260MW FROM EXPORT MARKET – GOVT

FORMER Energy Minister Peter Kapala says the country has clawed back a total of 260 megawatts from the 530 megawatts on export market.

Recently, information emerged that during the first quarter of 2024, Botswana experienced a significant 49.1 percent increase in electricity imports and that Zesco had emerged as the predominant supplier contributing 48.8 percent to that country’s total electricity imports.

In an interview before he was moved to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Kapala clarified that Zambia’s power exports to Botswana seemed huge in percentage form but it only accounted for about 60 megawatts. “Exports [have been] reduced from 530MW down to 270MW, clawed 260MW.

  1. Selling the food in your household while your family has none to eat is pure satanism.

Only a freemason, or a Zambezi dweller, thinks this is morally correct.

    Vote wisely in 2026.

    • Your Defunct TuPF criminals never paid farmers, and looted the Treasury. Where’s money going to come from apart from selling some old stocks?

  2. I agree with the minister , PF thieves making noise here over electricity supply to a desert? What industries does Botswana for 48% supply to sound like its a huge supply? They only have one industry there- diamond mining. And maybe 5 shopping malls & some street lights. Even those diamond mines it’s not like they are 100 of them like our copper mines here, it’s maybe 3 or 4 of them. This is cheap talk, minister do not get distructed, jst ignore these thieves, their cases are in court already for stealing.
