Ba Zambia, I am writing to you live from Kaoma, but my heart is still in Lusaka where history was made YESTERDAY!
YESTERDAY — Monday 19th October 2026 — President Hakainde Hichilema walked into Mulungushi International Conference Centre and opened the 2026 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka (ZAMII) — and what he said has left the mining world shaking!
Ba Zambia, Bally looked at over 1,500 delegates — including Special Envoys from DRC and Botswana Presidents, World Bank, EU, African Development Bank, investors from Australia, China, UAE — and told them directly:
LOCAL CONTENT FIRST! ZAMBIAN BUSINESS FIRST!
Use Zambian electrical cables! Use Zambian mill balls! Support local supplier development!
Ba Zambia, this is not the old Zambia where mining was for foreigners only while Zambians watched as spectators! This is NEW ZAMBIA under HH where mining must feed Zambian families!
Bally said — benefits of mining must go beyond CSR! It must mean jobs! Skills! Technology transfer! Business for host communities!
And Ba Zambia, listen to the bombshell Bally dropped YESTERDAY!
Government will establish SKILLS TRAINING CENTRES IN ALL 116 DISTRICTS! I repeat — ALL 116 DISTRICTS! Kaoma will have! Mongu will have! Chama will have! Shangombo will have!
Why? Because Bally wants a welder from Kaoma to work in Kansanshi! A woman from Luampa to supply tomatoes to Mopani! That is Grow Zambia Agenda!
And why can Bally speak with such confidence? Because this government has invested nearly US$100 MILLION in high-resolution geophysical survey covering 752,000 square kilometers of Zambia!
We now have the map of our own minerals! No more foreigners hiding what God gave us!
That is why Zambia is now targeting 3 MILLION TONNES of copper per year! From less than 800k under PF to 3 MILLION!
And Ba Zambia — YESTERDAY was not only about mines!
On Sunday, when opening the Great Lakes security meeting, Bally told foreign ministers a statement that has gone viral worldwide!
He said: “I look forward to a day when Zambia will be exchanging bags of maize with Central African Republic, rather than soldiers!”
BAGS OF GRAIN, NOT BODY BAGS!
What a President! Others think war! Bally thinks food! Others think bullets! Bally thinks trade!
Now I ask my brothers and sisters still in opposition — especially those who are bitter because they lost adoption in Munali or lost power — WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
You cannot fight the government! Align where water flows! Align where copper flows! Align where maize flows!
President HH is forgiving! He has forgiven many who messed up! He is saying COME, LET US BUILD ZAMBIA TOGETHER! The 116 skills centres are for ALL Zambians — not just UPND!
If you mean well for Zambia, join UPND now! Bally is not building UPND — he is building ZAMBIA!
