You are a poor man, M’membe tells Frank Mutubila

SOCIALIST Party leader Fred M’membe has mocked veteran broadcaster, Frank Mutubila that he should have been enjoying his retirement but that he is still working because he (Mutubila) is poor.

During an appearance on The Big Debate, a show hosted by Mr Mutubila, on Tuesday, Dr M’membe addressed the veteran journalist directly, questioning why he is not wealthy despite his extensive experience in the media industry.

  1. What a Stupid question from Fuledi Mumembe!
Whether Frank is poor or rich should be none of his business!
    It’s a personal choice!
    Retirement is a risky!
Many die soon after retirement when the illusion of retirement comfort sets in.
Jesus said a man’s worth in God’s eyes is not according to the abundance of personal possessions!
Naked we came and naked we’ll go!

    • No it is not a stupid question but a wake up remark. Some men are too playful and visionless. Really at his age and reputation he shouldn’t be an employee again…from Ambassador to journalist again…awe awe…and at that age. He was now supposed to be an employer. Not an employee. SP President Fred M’membe was right. Frank should stop playing because I hear he is still young at heart and start up a business in media that can employ young ones.

    • We are not against his passion. In this case, he should open up a studio and be a Director like his friends eg COSTA DIAMOND TV, PASTOR KBN TV, PRIME TV, etc. I am an Environment Health Officer ( Health Inspector ) my training and job is to promote healthy practices individuals, family, community and at national level.
My passion: To see clean environment, free from conditions that are injurious and dangerous to health…So on retirement got my package bought two 2nd hand 5 tone trucks and registered my Refuse Collection Company and am into my passion again at that level NOT to be employed by private Refused Collection Company..NO!
Similarly; Bro Frank Mutubila earned good money while serving as Ambassador and even where he was broadcasting equipment were fairly priced but he only enjoyed wines, posh outings and *** which blocked his vision. Now working for a fellow adult! Awe awe awe it is not acceptable anyway.
From Ambassador back to journalist? He was supposed to be a Director for a personal Media Company. He was supposed to add value to his life and status and leave a written successful story
behind. I still 100% agree with Dr Fred M’membe”s observation. So be careful yourselves with not vision you will be crying when getting retirement letters instead of feeling happy and eager to see new world.

  2. Some level of respect for one another should be exercised. Calling out on each other in such a manner is being impolite. Even if I knew a friend is gay, I would not say this one is homosexual publicly. I would grant such a person some respect.

    • It may sound like impolite but are you aware that they stage public weddings and openly announce they are married and gay. So if abene tabaleufwensoni why should you on lookers feel nsoni and call them so?

      • I feel sorry for this madala, I was in grade 4 or 5 when we watched him every second evening on ZNBC. Completed high school, went to college and am now an employer. So sad to hear what Fred said as that hurts ,if u really like Frank. Cos its only then that it dawned to me that Frank flushed all his years in a toilet drain. And at his age, there is no turning back to the days I was in grade 4. His is truly a finnished man. Washed down well dressed good for nothing kind of guy(if not madala). Also recently HH sought started liking the guy for his experience but with the Dora stories of him being a womaniser, I think this is a ticking time bomb for him. Should two other woman come forward, then he is gone! Forever this time.

  3. People don’t seem to understand passion and employment. Our Education system has taught many to get a good job and there after prosper on the job. This myth is what is destroying our society. When you see passion and don’t recognize it. This shows how disillusioned some folk really are and it’s really sad.

What exactly is the definition of wealth by our standards? How do you define contentment? Why is it wrong for one to do what inspires them in their old age?

These questions need introspection. People like Mr. Frank need to be applauded for successfully doing what they love. Which is serving people and making a living.

That’s why many go to work on jobs they hate but stick around because they don’t know what else to do. It takes great courage to be consistent in a business arena where competition is stiff.

Let’s give a pat on the back for such brave and outstanding performers. Maybe the young can learn a thing or two from such experienced experts. Pride and arrogance just exposes many as empty tins making a lot of noise but have nothing to show anyone about their legacy.

This PHD ( pull him down) syndrome has got to stop. Don’t get jealous because someone is working hard. Go make your own stuff happen. Then we can pat you on the back and be encouraged to work hard too.

  4. Dr. M’membe doesnot make sense anymore.

If Mr. Mutubila is enjoying what he is doing, who are you to define what he should be doing?

Each according to his gifting. We are not all supposed to own companies or huge pensions in our retirement.

    • No no no let’s not encourage people that rise high enough to start their own businesses feel comfortable at 60 still working for another man worse younger.
If he likes his job he should have started his own and be like others who are Directors running their own Media Companies or better still share holding. Imwe what ever smart language you will use to make Frank comfortable it remains-he missed it when he was an Ambassador….chapwa.
Now he has to survive by being employed as journalist again from the level of Ambassador.
      Something is not adding up!

  5. What a petty and vindictive statement from a man who seeks the Highest Office in the land.

An entire President of a Party resorting to insults to stroke his ego?

Mr. Mmembe as a leader, dont throw stones when you live in a glass house.
