Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy didn’t mince words in his BBC interview, exposing Iran’s pattern of deceit and direct support for Russia’s war machine.
“We went through difficult relations with Iran,” Zelenskyy said. “We did nothing to them. They shot down our plane, killed our passengers and crew, didn’t admit it, and didn’t let experts in.”
That was Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 in January 2020. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard fired missiles at the civilian jet, slaughtering all 176 people on board. Tehran lied for days, then finally admitted “human error” while blocking full international access to the site.
“Then the full-scale war started,” Zelenskyy continued. “They handed Shahed drones to Russians to kill our civilians. I asked them to stop. They promised there would be only one batch. They lied and kept supplying weapons.”
Iran’s mullahs broke every promise, flooding Russia with cheap suicide drones that have rained terror on Ukrainian cities, homes, and civilians since the 2022 invasion.
“That’s why I consider them accomplices of Russia,” Zelenskyy concluded.
No spin, no excuses. Iran has blood on its hands twice over: first the deliberate cover-up of a passenger jet massacre, then arming Putin’s butchers for more slaughter. While the regime plays victim on the world stage, it fuels aggression abroad and crushes its own people at home. This is the real face of the Islamic Republic: a lying sponsor of terror, not a misunderstood neighbor.
