ZELENSKYY: UKRAINE AND U.S. WANT RUSSIA WAR TO END BEFORE WINTER
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had a “positive and productive” meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly
Zelenskyy said both Washington and Kyiv want Russia’s war against Ukraine to end before winter and that they discussed possible de-escalation measures that could create a path toward diplomacy.
He also said the two sides discussed efforts to launch production of Patriot air-defense interceptors in Ukraine, which he said would help protect civilians if Russia rejects negotiations and continues ballistic-missile attacks.
The leaders also discussed other bilateral and multilateral issues, including a potential winter air-defense package for Ukraine
Zelenskyy thanked Trump, his administration and the American people for continued support.
