Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba writes:
Zimbos mocking us!
Zimbabwe has been under international sanctions for 20 years and despite this harsh economic isolation and the tecent severe drought, continues to register economic growth and its GDP has just overtaken Zambia.
In Zambia we have power cuts, water cuts, fuel shortage, a population facing hunger, and a severe cost of living crisis.
We have never been to war, and we have never suffered sanctions yet suffer outcomes of the same.
Stanbic economica analysis report has disclosed that the pirvate sector continues to suffer rapid decline the last four years..
No wonder Zimbabweans are taking turns laughing at us, because four years ago, Zambians elected President Hichilema who touted himself as an economic manager.
It probably reminds them of an economic astute banker and qualified Gideon Gono the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, serving from 2003 to 2013, who sunk their currency from $1- Zim 1 trillion!
Straight forward
Why are Zimbabweans obsessed with our country, Zambia? Zambians don’t comment on their issues which by the wat are many but Zambians leave it to Zimbabweans to deal with them but why do Zimbabweans want to comment on ours? And talking about economic growth, Mr. Mwamba deliberately forgets to mention that his PF government left the growth in negative but the country is now having positive growth and is even projected to grow by over 6.6% in 2025 if all go according to plan so using this metric, which government is better? To make matters worse, the problems we are facing today were created by his PF government for which we are just reaping the outcomes of their bad governance like unsustainable national debt burden they left which the country is still grappling with and on top of they left debts with fuel suppliers and electricity suppliers. Had they not left a severely damanged economy, most of the challenges we are currently facing as a country would not have been there so Mr. Mwamba please have some shame.
