ZRP COMMENDS BEMBA ROYAL ESTABLISHMENT FOR CALLING OFF UKUSEFYA PA NG’WENA CEREMONY.
Good morning friends and fellow citizens.
The Zambia Republican Party wishes to commend the Bemba Royal Establishment under His Royal Highness Paramount Chief Chitimukulu for the wise decision to call off this year’s Ukusefya pa Ng’wena traditional ceremony.
In view of the current animosity and tensions in the country, this decision reflects true leadership, patriotism, responsibility, and commitment to preserving peace, unity, and the dignity of our cultural heritage.
Ukusefya pa Ng’wena is one of Zambia’s most respected traditional ceremonies. By choosing to put the interests of the nation first, the Bemba Royal Establishment has set an example that politics should never override our shared values of peace and respect.
The Zambia Republican Party calls upon all patriotic political players, the Church, other Royal Highnesses, citizens, and stakeholders across this great country of ours to emulate this spirit of restraint. We must prioritize dialogue over division and unity over conflict.
How can the Bemba Royal Establishment celebrate Ukusefya pa Ng’wena when many of their children are in jail and detention?
What we all need to do as a country is to call for the unconditional release of all political prisoners. As a country, we should never entertain the idea of Zambia ever becoming a one-party state again.
As a country we must never allow a situation where all state power is concentrated in one person or few individuals again, if we truly love our country.
We stand with the Bemba people and all Zambians in praying for peace and unity to return to our nation so that our traditions and ceremonies can be celebrated freely and joyfully.
God bless Zambia!
