FDD CALLS ON PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO ADMIT FAILURE

By Constance Shilengwe

THE Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has advised President Hakainde Hichilema to come to terms with what it describes as a failure to deliver on the expectations of the Zambian people.

FDD Spokesperson Anthony Chibuye says the President’s Easter message, which emphasized love and unity, was unrealistic and did not reflect the current situation on the ground.

Mr. Chibuye has alleged that the country is experiencing increased divisions, citing concerns of tribalism, nepotism, corruption, and political persecution under the current administration.

He further claims that the President has not taken advice from various stakeholders on the need to unite the nation and respect differing views.

The opposition party has also criticized what it describes as inconsistencies in government, alleging that individuals previously labelled as corrupt are now being accommodated within the ruling establishment.

Mr. Chibuye has since called on Zambians to hold leadership accountable in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
