Over 50 Democratic lawmakers have demanded that Trump be removed from office by the 25th Amendment, which is to be invoked when the president is not mentally capable of doing the job – which Trump is clearly not.
They have been joined on their call by some of the least likely Republicans. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote “25TH AMENDMENT!!! Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness!”
Far-right conspiracy theorist Candace Owens posted on Twitter that “the 25th amendment needs to be invoked. He is a genocidal lunatic. Our Congress and military need to intervene. We are beyond madness.”
Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones echoed these sentiments on his show. “How do we 25th Amendment his ass? This isn’t a guy acting like he’s crazy. This is real!”
Far-right Christofascist writer David French of the National Review wrote “This is obvious 25th Amendment territory, but people are so desensitized that they can’t see it.”
Taken together, Jones, Owens, and Greene make up a huge part of the MAGA media machine, and if THEY’VE turned against Trump, that is clear evidence that Trump’s coalition is splintering at the seams and the rats are abandoning ship.
