THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY: MILES SAMPA REAFFIRMS LEADERSHIP AS MAKEBI ZULU ’S “ALLIANCE ” FALTERS

The Mulungushi International Conference Centre, a venue synonymous with Zambia’s monumental political shifts, today became the backdrop for a stark reminder of where the true power of the Patriotic Front lies. In a move that many have characterized as an attempt to bypass internal party structures, Makebi Zulu introduced himself as the President of the newly minted “PF Pamodzi Alliance.” However, his declaration was quickly overshadowed by the presence and legal standing of the Patriotic Front’s legitimate President, Miles Sampa.

While Makebi Zulu’s introduction was met with curious glances, it lacked the weight of legal backing. Following the March 27, 2026, Lusaka High Court ruling, the 2023 convention that elected Miles Sampa as party president was upheld as valid. This judicial seal of approval has effectively positioned Sampa as the sole custodian of the PF’s identity and assets.

When Sampa appeared at the venue, the contrast was undeniable. Observers noted that the “Pamodzi Alliance” branding appeared dwarfed by the institutional weight Sampa carries as the legally recognized head of the party.

For the PF to remain a viable contender in the 2026 General Elections, legal legitimacy is not just a preference—it is a requirement.

The Registrar of Societies: As the courts have consistently pointed back to the 2023 convention, Sampa remains the point of contact for the party’s official business.
Political Resilience: Despite multiple attempts by various factions to splinter the party—first through the Tonse Alliance and now the Pamodzi Alliance—Sampa has successfully navigated the judicial system to maintain his grip on the party’s presidency.

The “Dwarfing” Effect: In politics, optics are everything. By appearing alongside Zulu, Sampa underscored the difference between a factional leader and a party president. Zulu’s attempt to lead an alliance under the PF banner was met with the reality that you cannot lead a house you do not legally own.

As the election cycle heats up, the “PF Pamodzi Alliance” faces an uphill battle for recognition. Without the official PF certificate and the backing of the High Court, the alliance risks being viewed as a political shadow rather than a substance.

Meanwhile, Miles Sampa continues to consolidate his position. His presence at Mulungushi today wasn’t just a visit; it was a statement. In the battle for the heart and soul of the Patriotic Front, the law and the momentum appear to be firmly on Sampa’s side.

The takeaway from Mulungushi is clear: Alliances may rise and fall, but the legal presidency of the Patriotic Front remains firmly in the hands of Hon Miles Sampa.

The Debate

  1. Miles Sampa can’t function as Patriotic Front President or Secretary.
He is in a double check mate. Morgan Ng’ona appealed against the Hon Judge Concepta Chinyanwa ‘s judgement.
.. Raphael Nakachinda ‘s appeal is also active.
…And there’s also the Kabwe High Court Injunction.
The Patriotic Front will never be on the Ballot during the Presidential life of Mr Hakainde Hichilema.
Miles Sampa can puff around as PF President..He is nothing, just puffed air , and not going anywhere.
The PF is a dead Political party…A ” Banned” party..It will never be on the Ballot.
