A video showing 12‑year‑old Markos Abaye from rural Ethiopia bringing his ailing chicken to a local hospital has gone viral, drawing praise for the boy’s care for the bird.
A nurse told him the hospital treats people, not animals, and the hen was later taken to a vet and treated. Markos, who fled conflict with his family and was given the chicken as a gift, said the bird is now recovering.
