Trump declares Iran ceasefire “is over” during NATO summit
U.S. President Donald Trump said the temporary ceasefire with Iran “is over” while speaking alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during the NATO Summit in Ankara, Türkiye.
Trump said he no longer believes negotiations with Iran will produce meaningful results, adding that continuing direct talks would be “a waste of time.” He also used highly critical language to describe Iran’s leadership, while noting that U.S. representatives could continue diplomatic contacts if necessary.
The remarks signal a further hardening of Washington’s position as tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate.
