JUST IN: ECZ SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES IN SHIWANGANDU TO PAVE WAY FOR VEEPS VISIT
Shiwang’andu, Zambia – July 2026
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has suspended all campaign activities in Chimpundu Ward, Shiwang’andu Constituency, from Wednesday, 8th July to Friday, 10th July 2026.
The directive, issued through the Shiwang’andu District Electoral Office, stated that the suspension was to facilitate an official government working visit by the Republican Vice President to Ilondola on Friday, 10th July 2026.
The decision comes at a critical time as the campaign period draws closer to the end, with political parties and candidates racing against time to maximise voter engagement, conduct community outreach and present their messages to the electorate ahead of the polls.
During the suspension period, all campaign-related activities, including rallies, roadshows, processions, door-to-door campaigns, public address announcements and other political engagements, have been halted in the affected ward.
