URGENT NOTICE: DISREGARD THE FAKE LETTER CIRCULATED BY CRIMINAL, JJ BANDA
We wish to categorically dismiss and condemn yet another fake letter falsely attributed to the Special Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs, Mr. Christopher Mundia, and purportedly addressed to ZESCO. The forged document falsely alleges that funds were to be disbursed to me to organise members of the clergy to campaign against Mr. JJ Banda and respond to his public statements.
We state, in the strongest possible terms, that the said document is a complete forgery and should be disregarded by members of the public.
The creation, circulation, and publication of forged documents are serious offences that undermine public trust, democratic institutions, and the integrity of governance. Those found responsible under the laws of Zambia may face serious legal consequences.
Political competition and public discourse should never descend into the fabrication of documents or the deliberate dissemination of falsehoods intended to deceive the public and damage the reputations of innocent individuals.
This latest forgery appears to form part of a calculated smear campaign intended to undermine my integrity and credibility in the eyes of the public. By falsely invoking the names of Mr. Christopher Mundia and other officials serving under President Hakainde Hichilema, it also appears designed to cast both the Republican President and his administration in a false and negative light. Those behind this malicious scheme seem intent on creating the misleading impression that the New Dawn Government conducts its affairs through clandestine payments, forged correspondence, and underhanded political tactics. Nothing could be further from the truth. Under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, public affairs are expected to be conducted through lawful, transparent, and accountable processes, not through fabricated letters, deception, or cheap propaganda.
We further wish to point out that this is not the first time individuals associated with this campaign have allegedly abused online platforms by creating and circulating forged letters purporting to have been authored by Mr. Christopher Mundia and addressed to various government institutions. In each instance, the apparent objective has been to bring Mr. Mundia, myself, and other innocent individuals into disrepute through the malicious publication of false information.
I categorically distance myself from this forged document and every allegation contained therein. I urge members of the public to verify information through official channels and to reject fabricated documents circulated to mislead citizens, inflame public opinion, and tarnish the reputations of others.
Truth will always prevail over falsehood, and those responsible for manufacturing and circulating forged documents must be held accountable in accordance with the laws of Zambia.
