GOVERNMENT WANTS TO USE CIVIL SERVANTS TO “RIG AUGUST POLLS,” CLAIMS MUNDUBILE.

BRIAN Mundubile says he’s not scaring civil servants from doing their jobs, claiming that he’s just warning them not to execute government’s “instructions to steal” his votes.

Meanwhile, Makebi Zulu says Mundubile was called by God and people to serve citizens.

Futher, newly elected PEP president Chanda Katotobwe and former PEP president endorsed Mundubile and Makebi.

Speaking during a rally in Mwansabombwe, Luapula, on Wednesday, Mundubile advised civil servants not to execute “wrong” instructions he claimed would come from government.

“Bamo bamukukulu heard when I was telling civil servants that ‘civil servants ‘I’m begging you, don’t make your children suffer’. ‘This government likes breaking the law, when they tell you to break the law don’t accept’. They said I’m scaring civil servants. Civil servants you are good people, you worked with us when I was in government. You worked with us, some of you are still working, not so? But when the head is confused, even down there things get messed up. Today I’m repeating, as we go towards the elections, government will be giving civil servants wrong instructions to rig, to steal votes, don’t even try, don’t try I’m begging you. So when I was talking to you civil servants, it’s not scaring you from doing your job, because if you doing wrong things and we fish you out, these people that are going out won’t be there. So I’m begging you don’t make your children suffer, don’t do any wrong things,” he said.

And during an earlier rally in Kawambwa, Mundubile said he would love every Zambian to feel respected.

“Over 10 people have died in political violence, in Kaputa someone died, they were fighting amongst themselves and one was killed, they arrested our members and banned us from campaigning there.

The other day a man took a radio for repair, after he finished repairing, he told the repair to test it, who put our song Mundubile na Makebi Bengile, UPND cadres came and beat the man and killed him. In Magoye the driver for an independent candidate was killed by UPND. In Kaputa the fight wasn’t even about campaigns,” said Mundubile.

“In Magoye and Chawama campaigns haven’t been banned. What we want is [to] bring fairness in the country. We want a country that observes the rule of law. A country that respects people and laws not where laws are applied [differently], those from the ruling can insult with impunity but when youths speak out they say it’s hate speech, that comes to an end, abash tribalism! We want every Zambian to feel respected, it’s their country, we don’t want a country where there are laws for the opposition and others for the ruling party”.

Zulu during the Mwansabombwe rally called on the people of Luapula not to give votes to the UPND claiming that former education minister Douglas Syakalima called them “dull”.

“I won’t say much, I want my big brother [Mundubile] to speak. I heard a story to say the [former] minister of Education [Douglas] Syakalima said that people from Luapula don’t think properly, is that true? And then they come and ask for votes from you after insulting you? Us we trust you, that’s why [Michael] Sata gave you a district so that you have development here. A lot of things that I want to explain, Mundubile will explain, Mundubile heeded to God’s call, and your call to come and save you, and then he called us and put us together to come here in Luapula to come and talk to you and tell you what we will do for you not this one [Hakainde Hichilema], the liar,” said Zulu.

  1. We don’t want to hear stories of rigging. You have more than enough time to put measures in place to safeguard your vote.

Just lose with honour. Stop fishing for excuses. Civil servants have always been used in elections, even when the civil service was packed with PF cadres.

  2. Government should take this seriously because when Mundubile loses he will use that as main reason
He should be interrogated. He should give the incidence or source of this allegation. How are civil servants going to manage such a complicated activity?
