UPND ALLIANCE SAYS PRESIDENT HICHILEMA READY FOR TELEVISED PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

UPND Alliance Chairperson Charles Milupi says President Hakainde Hichilema is ready to participate in a televised presidential debate, stating that the head of state has nothing to fear.
Responding to a challenge by the Opposition Tonse Alliance for A Presidential Debate, Mr. Milupi says the president is prepared to take part provided the engagement is productive and centered on issues of national importance, rather than trivial matters.
Mr. Milupi has told phoenix news that the UPND’s campaign is anchored on its 2021 manifesto, highlighting the country’s situation before the party assumed office, the commitments it made to Zambians, the achievements recorded since taking office, and its development agenda for the next five years.
He is confident that President Hichilema can effectively defend government’s record and present its future plans in a televised debate, provided the discussion offers voters an opportunity to compare policy proposals and leadership visions ahead of the general election.
