BREAKING: Iran’s New Supreme Leader Vows Revenge as Tensions With Trump Escalate

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has declared that revenge for the killing of his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is “inevitable,” insisting that those responsible for ordering and carrying out the assassination “will be punished as soon as possible.” The statement marks one of his strongest public remarks since taking office and underscores Tehran’s hardline stance following the death of his predecessor.

The comments came shortly after Iran held a state funeral for Ali Khamenei, amid reports from U.S. and Israeli officials alleging that senior Iranian figures have discussed possible plans targeting U.S. President Donald Trump. Separate reports have also claimed Israeli intelligence has warned of renewed threats against Trump, though no publicly confirmed assassination plot has been announced.

President Trump responded with a stark warning, saying that if Iran attempts to assassinate or attack him, the United States would launch an overwhelming military response.

Trump stated that military orders have already been prepared, warning that U.S. forces would “completely destroy” Iranian targets if such an attack were carried out.

The exchange of threats comes at a time of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, raising fresh concerns that the fragile security situation in the Middle East could deteriorate further despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider regional conflict.
