EXPOSING MUNDUBILE’S FIRE-HOSING STRATEGY
Zambians, open your eyes! The election is just weeks away, and the Tonse Alliance knows it cannot win fairly. Because they have no real plan for our nation, they are using a trick called “fire-hosing”—throwing out too many big lies all at once to confuse the public and make voters lose focus.
Take a look at what Tonse Alliance leader Brian Mundubile did at his campaign rally in Kasama. To gain attention, he claimed that President Hakainde Hichilema allowed US$10 billion to leave Zambia. This is a complete lie, and the facts show why this man can never be trusted.
First, there is absolutely no proof of this missing money. Mundubile and his followers are twisting the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) reports to intentionally deceive the public. The FIC tracks broader commercial activities, tax evasion, trade mis-invoicing, and illegal mining operations conducted by private corporate entities and individual natural persons—mostly foreign nationals. The data captured shows private sector transactions, not money being stolen by the President or the government. Mundubile is taking normal data about private financial flows and pretending it is a government scandal just to make people panic.
Second, this is not the first time Mundubile has used this fire-hosing tactic to deceive Zambia. Let us expose his other major lies:
• The Free Education Lie: Mundubile recently claimed his former party, the PF, originated Zambia’s free education policy. The Ministry of Information completely blasted this lie. The PF left schools underfunded and falling apart. It was President Hichilema who actually funded and delivered free education for our children!

• The Empty Reserves Lie: Mundubile openly lied that Zambia has “no national reserves” left under the UPND. In reality, the New Dawn Government has spent its tenure painstakingly rebuilding the foreign exchange reserves that Mundubile’s previous administration completely emptied.
• The Power Export Deception: He blamed the current government for exporting power during electricity shortages. He shamelessly hid the fact that these power exports are legally binding contracts signed by the very PF government he served!
Third, as an MP and former Leader of the Opposition, Mundubile could have presented this evidence in Parliament. He kept quiet there because lying inside Parliament brings heavy legal punishment. Instead, he chose to shout fiction to rural crowds where he thought nobody would check the facts.
Fourth, his attack on our farming sector is equally fake. He is crying foul about the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) manipulating farmers. The truth is that President Hichilema’s government pushed well beyond the standard FRA threshold to buy every grain of local maize. This successfully protected our farmers from cheap briefcase buyers while locking in our national food security.
Mundubile simply wants voters to forget that he was a top leader in the catastrophic Patriotic Front (PF) administration—the same group now hiding under the Tonse Alliance banner after crashing our economy. As Paramount Chief Mpezeni recently noted, their years of failure cannot match the immense progress President Hichilema has delivered. A politician who manufactures national crises on a campaign stage can never be trusted. If he lies now to get votes, he will lie to you if he gets into power.
Zambia is moving forward with peaceful, honest, and disciplined leadership. Let us reject the politics of noise and deceit.
Say NO to Tonse’s fake stories. Say NO to Brian Mundubile!
