UPND DISMISSES TONSE CLAIMS OF BEING BLOCKED FROM PRINTING CAMPAIGN MATERIALS AT MULUNGUSHI TEXTILES
By Elesani Phiri
UPND National Campaign Manager Likando Mufalali has challenged the Tonse Alliance to place orders for the printing of its campaign materials at Mulungushi textiles, dismissing claims that the ruling party has blocked the alliance from accessing printing services.
This follows allegations by Tonse Alliance national youth chairperson Celestine Mukandila, who recently accused the UPND of directing Mulungushi textiles and other printing companies in the country not to print the alliance’s campaign materials, claiming the factory had been fully booked by the ruling party.
But in an interview with phoenix news, Mr. Mufalali has described Mr. Mukandila’s assertions as false and unfounded.
He has also rejected claims that the UPND revived Mulungushi textiles solely to print its campaign materials, instead of creating employment opportunities for the people of Kabwe.
Mr. Mufalali has disclosed that while the UPND remains committed to supporting local industries, the party is sourcing its campaign materials from both within Zambia and abroad.
He has further expressed surprise that tonse alliance officials are simultaneously alleging that the UPND has blocked them from printing campaign materials, while also claiming the ruling party is withholding their already printed materials, assertions he says are contradictory.
