NO GOING BACK, ZAMBIA MUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD – HH
Kafue, July 12, 2026
President Hakainde Hichilema has urged residents of Shantumbu to vote for the UPND in the August 15 general election, saying Zambia must continue on the path of peace, development, and economic transformation.
Addressing a campaign rally in Shantumbu, President Hichilema described the area as his home, saying the upcoming election would be a defining moment for the country and future generations.
The President urged voters not to forget the challenges Zambia faced before 2021, noting that many children could not attend school because of school fees. He said the UPND Government had since introduced free education, benefiting more than 2.5 million learners, and had strengthened the policy by signing it into law.
President Hichilema also said his administration had continued to service the country’s inherited debt while recruiting thousands of teachers, nurses, police officers, members of the Zambia Army, the Zambia National Service, and other public service workers.
“There is no going back. Zambia must keep moving forward,” President Hichilema said, as he called on residents to vote for all UPND candidates to ensure continued development.
