🇿🇲 BRIEFING | Mundubile promises 300,000 jobs via 12 farming blocks
Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile says an NRPUP government would create more than 300,000 jobs within three years by developing 12 farming blocks across Zambia.
Speaking during an interview on Hot FM, Mundubile said the proposed farming blocks would be developed through government investment and partnerships with the private sector, with a focus on agriculture, agro-processing and manufacturing.
“We have identified 12 farming blocks across the country and government will invest in these farming blocks, attract investment from the private sector,” he said.
Mundubile said the plan extends beyond crop production, with downstream industries expected to process agricultural produce into finished products, creating employment and adding value to Zambia’s agricultural output.
“We are looking at 12 farming blocks that within three years they should be able to employ over 300,000 people. We think this is going to make a huge difference.”
Agriculture has emerged as one of the central themes of Mundubile’s campaign as the opposition seeks to present job creation and value addition as key pillars of its economic agenda ahead of the 13 August General Election.
