My Kabwata Family.
By now, you are all aware that my campaign centre situated in Libala was attacked and severely damaged by UPND cadres this evening.
They brought down the gate , attacked innocent by standers and members of my campaign team. Broke windows of the house, the genset, and broke the windows to vehicles as well.
The most shocking thing was that my team tried to inform the police but they did nothing, only to come much later after the damage had already been done.
I have always held that politics is a contestation of ideas and not a battleground .. the fact that our opponents have resorted to violence is extremely regrettable, and we call on law enforcement officers to really protect citizens by ensuring law and order as we head towards elections on August 13.
Life and property must be safeguarded from political hooligans.
Needless to say, the attempts at intimidation by our opponents is an exercise in futility because we will not be shaken nor moved. We stand resolved to represent the people of kabwata, and come August 13th, we will win the elections.
The property that has been damaged and lost today will have to be replaced at great cost, and we will not rest until we get justice. The perpetrators must be brought to book.
