HICHILEMA HAS DIVIDED THE COUNTRY SAYS BRIAN MUNDUBILE.
National Reconciliation and Restoration for Unity and Progress (NRRUP) presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has launched a fresh attack on President Hakainde Hichilema , accusing him of presiding over a divided Country.
Addressing a supporters at a campaign rally in Chisamba, Central Province, yesterday, Mundubile told supporters that former President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda’s warning about tribal divisions under Hichilema had now, in his opinion, been proven correct.
Mundubile said many people initially dismissed Kaunda’s remarks, believing the founding president was simply speaking because of old age.
However, he argued that recent events had led many Zambians to reconsider those comments.
“Kaunda said any other person in Zambia qualifies to be President, but there is just one man who can divide the country. Isn’t that so? A lot of people were thinking KK was old and didn’t know what he was talking about. But today we have seen it for ourselves,” Mundubile told the crowd.
The opposition leader said Zambia’s diversity should be embraced rather than used to create divisions, stressing that citizens from every ethnic group belong to one national family.
“All of you here, Lozi, Tonga, Bemba, you are all my relatives, and I am your relative. This is very important because we can’t develop a country when we are divided,” he said.
Mundubile pledged that, if elected president, his administration would prioritize fostering national unity and ensuring that every Zambian feels equally represented regardless of tribe or region.
He told supporters that fighting tribalism would be among the first assignments of his government, arguing that lasting economic development and social progress can only be achieved in a united country.
The comments drew applause from supporters at the rally as campaigns ahead of the general election continue to gather momentum, with political parties intensifying efforts to win over voters across the country.
President Hakainde Hichilema has previously rejected accusations that his administration promotes tribalism, while his supporters maintain that his government serves all Zambians equally and appoints officials based on merit rather than ethnicity.
How has HH divided the country? Just campaign without bringing out non existence issues. Just bwattering like boiling porridge without giving any data. Time waster.
The hypocrisy of these PF gentlemen is astounding. Tribalism and regionalism was a defacto policy of the PF regime to which Mr. Mundubile belonged and was a minister just as corruption was similarly a policy (uubomba mwibala alya mwibala). Mr. Lungu’s cabinet comprised 90% individuals from the Northern and Eastern parts if Zambia.
And today Mr. Mundubile wants us to believe that he can unite Zambia. This is the same gentleman who said he will rule like his mentor Mr. Lungu.
Mr. Lungu and his PF are the most divisive outfit to ever rule this country. In case he has forgotten, Mr. Kambwli, a former cabinet minister in the PF government was convicted of hate speech and at one time apologised to Tongas for passing tribal comments.
PF is the true representation of hypocrisy, lies and lawlessness. They were tribalists to the core.
Every politician divides the country. Those who vote for him/her and those that dont.
