ZELENSKY AND UK PRIME MINISTER ANDY BURNHAM REAFFIRM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he held his first conversation with newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, congratulating him on taking office and welcoming his commitment to maintaining the United Kingdom’s strong support for Ukraine.

Zelensky thanked Burnham for expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian people and offering condolences to the families of those killed in Russia’s recent attacks. He emphasized that Ukraine and the United Kingdom have built the strongest partnership in the history of their bilateral relations, a relationship that both leaders agreed will continue to deepen.

A key outcome of the call was an agreement to meet soon to discuss expanding cooperation, including work within the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition—an initiative aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s ability to defend its cities and critical infrastructure from Russia’s growing missile threat.
