STATE HOUSE SAYS OPPOSITION LACKS ORIGINAL POLICY IDEAS

State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka has accused opposition parties of lacking fresh policy proposals ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Mr. Hamasaka says most opposition campaign messages are based on policies already being implemented by the UPND government, particularly in mining, energy, agriculture, education, healthcare and manufacturing.

He says instead of presenting alternative solutions, the opposition is simply rebranding existing government programmes while focusing on criticism of President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Hamasaka argues that some opposition parties had the opportunity to implement similar policies when they were in power but failed to address key economic challenges facing the country.

He says effective leadership requires new ideas and practical solutions, adding that political parties should compete by offering different visions for Zambia’s future rather than copying existing programmes.
