DR. NEVERS MUMBA BLASTS ‘POLITICS OF LIES,’ ACCUSES JAY JAY BANDA OF POISONING PUBLIC DISCOURSE
Former Vice President Dr Nevers Mumba has strongly urged Zambians to rejected what he described as the politics of lies, witchcraft, slander and cyber abuse, accusing Fugitive and Fomer Petauke Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda of orchestrating falsehoods aimed at damaging reputations and poisoning public discourse.
Reacting to a recent Facebook livestream in which the former Parliamentarian allegedly made a series of claims linking Vice President Mutale Nalumango, President Hakainde Hichilema and Dr. Mumba to alleged mysterious practices.
Dr Mumba said the accusations were baseless, irrational and unsupported by evidence, describing them as recycled rumours that have circulated for years among his critics.
The former Vice President particularly dismissed claims that he persuaded Vice President Nalumango to participate in rituals at Mwalule Graveyard in Chinsali and later offered to pray for her deliverance.
He said the allegations were contradictory and demonstrated a poor understanding of both Christian theology and ministry.
Dr. Mumba warned that Zambia Is witnessing a dangerous trend in which political debates are increasingly being replaced by conspiracy theories, superstition and accusations of witchcraft adding that democracy cannot thrive when public discourse is driven by fear and unsubstantiated claims rather than facts, evidence, ideas and accountability.
