A MUNDUBILE – MAKEBI LED GOVERNMENT WOULD BE TOXIC. – TAYALI
Economic and Equity Party leader Chilufya Tayali has warned that a government led by Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu would be toxic, arguing that the duo lacks the leadership qualities needed to govern Zambia.
Tayali says he is relieved that Makebi Mundubile and Zulu are unlikely to win the upcoming elections, claiming their leadership would create more problems for the country.
He has accused Mundubile of being unprepared for the presidency, saying he emerged as a major opposition figure only after the death of former President Edgar Lungu.
He says Mundubile is a good man but argues that he lacks a clear manifesto, resources and the political foundation required to challenge President Hakainde Hichilema.
Tayali further blamed the current challenges facing the Patriotic Front on what he described as Mr Lungu’s failure to prepare a successor while he was still alive.
He claims that if president Lungu had endorsed Mundubile earlier, the 2026 elections would have been a much tighter contest between President Hichilema and the opposition leader.
He also criticised Makebu Zulu’s handling of president Lungu’s death, alleging that attempts to gain political mileage from the former president’s funeral contributed to further weakening the PF.
Tayali adds that President Hichilema currently has no serious challenger, adding that the opposition remains divided and unprepared to take over government.

You are toxic Mr. Chilufya Tayali. By associating with you, UPND risks being contaminated.
