Bahrain says air defenses intercepted and destroyed Iranian aerial attacks
Bahrain’s military said on Friday its air defenses intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks targeting the kingdom, accusing Tehran of continuing what it called a systematic campaign against civilians.
The Bahrain Defence Force said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed “a number” of Iranian aerial attacks on Friday, adding that all military units remained at the highest level of readiness to defend the country.
The military urged the public to avoid approaching suspicious objects or debris resulting from what it described as the Iranian attack and to report them immediately. It said Royal Field Engineering Unit personnel were prepared to safely dispose of any unexploded remnants.
The Bahrain Defence Force accused Iran of using missiles and drones to target civilians and private property, describing such attacks as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
