PRESIDENT HICHILEMA PLEDGES MORE INFRASTRUCTURE, FASTER FARMER PAYMENTS IN CHOMA

President Hakainde Hichilema has pledged to accelerate infrastructure development in Choma District and across Southern Province if re-elected, saying his administration remains committed to improving the lives of Zambians through sustained investment in roads, education, healthcare and agriculture.

Addressing supporters in Choma earlier today, President Hichilema said Government was determined to upgrade both township and rural roads, construct additional schools using the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF), expand health facilities and build Choma General Hospital and an international airport.

He further announced plans to construct a dual carriageway from Lusaka to Kazungula to improve transport efficiency and reduce road traffic accidents.

The President said Government recognised the importance of agriculture and had directed that farmers be paid within three days of delivering maize to Food Reserve Agency depots.

“We are determined to work on the township and rural roads,” President Hichilema said.

He urged voters to support the UPND in the August 13 general election, saying, “we love you. We care for you and we will continue to deliver development for you all.”
