JULIUS MALEMA DECLARES THE EFF IS READY TO GOVERN SOUTH AFRICA, POINTING TO THE PARTY’S PERFORMANCE IN COALITION GOVERNMENTS AS THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS GATHER IN THOHOYANDOU FOR THE 2026 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION MANIFESTO LAUNCH

EFF leader Julius Malema told thousands of supporters in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, that the party is ready to take over government, saying the EFF’s performance in coalition governments shows it is prepared to lead South Africa.

Addressing the party’s 2026 Local Government Election Manifesto launch, Malema highlighted what he described as the EFF’s successes in municipalities where it has participated in coalition governments. He argued that these achievements demonstrate the party’s ability to govern and deliver services.

The event attracted a large crowd of supporters dressed in the EFF’s signature red colours, with singing, dancing and chants throughout the day as the party unveiled its plans ahead of next year’s local government elections.

The EFF says it aims to expand its support and increase its influence in municipalities across South Africa during the 2026 elections.
