A LETTER OF GRATITUDE TO HIS EXCELLENCY MR. HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA
Your Excellency,
RE: APPRECIATION FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP, REFORMS, AND COMMITMENT TO THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA
I write this letter to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity you have given the people of Zambia through the policies and reforms your administration has implemented since assuming office.
Your Excellency, we remember the state in which you found our nation. Zambia was burdened by unsustainable debt, public institutions faced serious governance challenges, and many citizens believed that opportunities and public systems favored only a privileged few. There were widespread concerns about the administration of justice, unequal access to education, and divisions that affected national unity and social harmony.
Since your administration took office, your government has introduced a number of reforms that have positively impacted the lives of many Zambians. Making free education a matter of national policy has opened doors for thousands of children who might otherwise have been denied the opportunity to learn. The school feeding programme has improved school attendance and supported vulnerable learners across the country.
Your government’s commitment to strengthening the Social Cash Transfer programme has provided much-needed support to vulnerable households, including older persons, widows, people living with disabilities, and other disadvantaged members of society. These interventions have brought hope and dignity to many families.
We have also witnessed renewed respect for the rule of law, greater peace and stability, and continued investment in infrastructure and national development. The successful debt restructuring process stands as a significant milestone for Zambia’s economic recovery and creates opportunities for sustainable growth for future generations.
Furthermore, your administration’s investment policies, mining sector reforms, and efforts to encourage inclusive economic participation have demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that development benefits ordinary Zambians and local communities.
Your Excellency, we have also heard your commitments regarding the development of Western Province. We remain hopeful that the province will continue to receive increased investment in roads, agriculture, education, healthcare, water, tourism, and employment opportunities. We believe these initiatives have the potential to unlock the vast economic potential of the region and improve the livelihoods of its people.
As Zambia approaches the General Election on 13 August 2026, I wish to thank you for your service to the nation and for the vision you have presented for Zambia’s future. I encourage all citizens to participate peacefully in the democratic process, exercise their constitutional right to vote, and continue promoting national unity regardless of political affiliation.
May God continue to bless you with wisdom, good health, and strength as you serve the Republic of Zambia.
