Iran says it destroyed 11 US aircraft, Patriot systems in 15-day strikes

Iranian strikes destroyed US aircraft, Patriot systems, radar sites and military infrastructure across the region over 15 days, IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said on Saturday.

Mohebbi told the Tasnim news agency that the alleged losses between July 8 and 22 included 11 fighter jets and helicopters on the ground, 17 reconnaissance and combat drones, an F-15 inside a shelter, a P-8 patrol aircraft, a C-17 transport plane, eight refueling aircraft and four heavy helicopters.

He also said Iranian forces hit six Patriot radars, four Patriot air-defense complexes, seven command-and-control centers, eight early-warning radars, five long-range radars and several other air- and missile-defense systems.

According to Mohebbi, the attacks also struck aircraft hangars, maintenance and logistics centers, fuel tanks, weapons depots, missile storage sites, HIMARS launch platforms, missile launchers and intelligence and communications facilities.

The United States has not confirmed the reported losses, and the IRGC provided no independently verifiable evidence.
