Houthis Claim to Have Shot Down Saudi Bayraktar Akıncı Drone in Yemen
The Houthi movement in Yemen has claimed responsibility for shooting down a Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) allegedly operated by Saudi Arabia during operations over Yemeni airspace.
According to a statement released by the Houthis, the drone was intercepted and destroyed while flying over Yemen. The group did not immediately provide evidence to support the claim, and the exact location and circumstances of the reported shootdown have not been independently verified.
The Bayraktar Akıncı, developed by Turkish defense company Baykar, is one of the most advanced combat drones currently in service.
