Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Says He Has ‘Nothing to Worry About’ Ahead of UN General Assembly Visit
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed concerns over his planned trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, declaring that he has “nothing to worry about” despite growing calls from some political figures for his arrest.
“I will attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and I have nothing to worry about,” Netanyahu said.
His remarks come amid renewed debate following statements by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who acknowledged that the city lacks the legal authority to arrest Netanyahu but urged the U.S. federal government to enforce the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued against the Israeli leader.
Netanyahu has consistently rejected the ICC’s allegations and maintains that Israel does not recognize the court’s jurisdiction. U.S. President Donald Trump has also stated that Netanyahu will not be arrested while visiting the United States, reinforcing Washington’s support for the Israeli prime minister.
