Iran says Bulgaria must answer for hosting US aircraft
Iran warned Bulgaria on Monday over deployment of a US Air Force refueling aircraft at an air base on its land
Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Bulgarian officials must answer for decision that could make the country complicit in US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
“Bulgarian decision-makers must be held accountable for this unjustified and dangerous decision, which could effectively reduce their country to the role of an accomplice,” he said.
He said Bulgaria had previously allowed US aircraft supporting attacks on Iran to use Sofia Airport.
He also said Iran had not asked to resume talks with the United States to end the war, adding that the Strait of Hormuz remained closed although talks with Oman over managing the waterway had been positive.
