SOUTH AFRICA CALLS FOR AFRICAN UNITY, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO PAN-AFRICAN SOLIDARITY WHILE REJECTING XENOPHOBIA, RACISM AND ALL FORMS OF INTOLERANCE ACROSS THE CONTINENT
The South African government has reaffirmed its commitment to Pan-African unity, saying African countries should continue working together through solidarity, respect for the rule of law and constructive dialogue on migration.
Government said South Africa remains firmly opposed to xenophobia, racism and all forms of intolerance, while supporting a migration system that is lawful, humane and well-coordinated across the continent.
The statement comes as migration remains one of Africa’s most debated issues, with many countries facing growing pressure to strengthen border management while also maintaining regional cooperation and protecting human rights.
According to government, building stronger partnerships between African nations is essential for promoting peace, economic growth, stability and the free exchange of ideas, while ensuring that migration is managed responsibly and in accordance with the law.
